DANI'S STORY

Hello, my name is Aaro “DANI” Shavers; my life started in 1983 in Southeast Missouri to James “J.W. “ and Betty Rose Shavers an area fondly known as the Bootheel, in the tiny town of Hayti Heights. My father earned his eternal wings when I was the tender age of 8 years old but not before he taught me a few things. He was an accomplished farmer and additionally served as the Mayor of Homestown, Mo.  Our family was fortunate enough to have owned two pieces of land adjacent to our home where we grew vegetables such as peas, corn, potatoes, tomatoes, greens and cabbage to name a few. In addition to gardening, we raised chickens to provide for numerous families in the community. My mother, Betty Rose Shavers, was a staple in our community known for her grassroots organizing, assisting young mothers through mentorship, which prepared her to become a nutritionist for the University of Missouri. Together they provided me with a sense of hard work, perseverance, determination, dedication and drive. In 2010, I was blessed to have a beautiful daughter named Terriana.  Becoming a single mother gave me purpose; looking in her eyes, I knew I had to leave her a legacy. After years of working in the restaurant industry, it was time for me to follow my passion. I decided I would enroll in college and learn how to run a business from all aspects.  September 2015 I completed my Bachelors of Science in Business Management with a Concentration in Small Business Entrepreneurship.  Now I was ready and equipped with the required education to open Dani’s Delights Catering.  We officially opened in 2018 with a limited menu but much veracity and enthusiasm. My mother is now 77 years old and seeing her smile when she sees me cooking warms my heart.  It is what drives my determination for Dani’s Delights Catering.  I am just a country girl who loves to make people smile through Homemade Goodness, because that how we do it in the “COUNTRY”. Southern Hospitality at its finest!!
